Shelmeks are a race I made up of humanoid amphibians/reptiles. They live about the same length of time as humans and are capable of breathing air and fresh and salt water. They're a highly militarized race built upon honor. The highest crime in shelmek society is desertion. They tend to worship spirits of virtue and sin.

Homeworld: Enraa (My fantasy world)

History: Dinn was taken to the military immediately after birth, thus he never knew his parents and he was never told when his birthday is. He never fit in the military because he's a runt with a disdain for violence, so he's constantly bullied. Just as Dinn was to be thrown to his death in the frontlines, he's "rescued" and taken in by a small brotherhood of soldiers who attempt (and fail...) to train him to be a better soldier. One simple and yet dire mistake, however, forced him to run away from the military. He meets his best friend Lawk and tries to make a friendly connection with him. Dinn takes it upon himself to cure Lawk of his emotional pain (much to Lawk's disdain).

By a twist of fate, Dinn and Lawk find a portal (created by a series of complicated events) that takes them to Earth, forever connecting the human world of Earth and their world of Enraa. While clearing out a monster-infected ruin, Dinn finds and becomes embodied by an air spirit and is able to use air magic. This gives him the title of "Skyborne Paragon".

While traveling the human world, Dinn accidentally breaks some (several pieces of) expensive merchandise and now works at Innkuties to work off his debt -- dragging Lawk with him.

He and Lawk work hard to pay the debt. The both got various part-time (and often times humiliating) jobs during their free time. After a year and a half the owner of the antique shop, after seeing how hard they worked, pardoned the remainder of Dinn's debt. After many tearful good-byes, Dinn, Lawk and Famena left Innkuties to return home. Dinn went on to battle powerful dark adversaries. He suffered many great wounds in the fight, but he fought those who harm the helpless. Unflinching, unwavering, until his last breath. 

Personality: One word -- derp. Dinn is very cheerful with a innocent curiosity over everything. He tends to prod people with questions when excited or when he's coping. Dinn has the ability to easily make friends with people and has a mischievous side that occasionally pops up. While at times annoying and clumsy, Dinn is very friendly and a great person to be around.

Accessory: Crystal Shard Foci. These crystals, which Dinn can summon whenever he wants, hover above his wrists and help him focus his magic better in combat.

Combat and Abilities: Dinn is an archtypical mage. Physically, Dinn is a wimp and he knows it. But in exchange, Dinn has a knack for magic and is able to summon windstreams and lightning bolts. However, Dinn hates violence so he'll only fight if he has to. Dinn and his people have the ability to breathe underwater.

Likes: Hanging with Lawk, trying new things, shiny objects, puzzles, swimming, rain, experimenting with his magic, seafood

Dislikes: Being called "lizard" and "hatchling", bullies, being underestimated, people taking family for granted, Lawk putting himself down, violence

Extra: Dinn and his people have sparkly "gemstone" eyes. Dinn's people are the descendants of dragons!
